About Iain Duncan

Truly a polymath, Iain has twenty years of experience as a software developer, seven in software M&A as a diligence assessor, and over thirty as a musician and stage performer.
His professional work in technical diligence includes interviewing companies; assessing code and development practices; presenting to deal teams; consulting on software architecture; leading development projects; writing and editing reports and white papers; training executive consultants; and authoring instructional content, both written and video.
In addition to his work in the software and M&A spaces, Iain has appeared as a musician, entertainer, MC, trainer, and speaker at corporate events, festivals, nightclubs, and theatres. His approach to training and coaching is based on decades of study with world-class teachers of the performing arts across numerous disciplines.
Iain is currently a PhD student in Computer Science and Music at the University of Victoria, working on programming languages for music and developing the open-source Scheme for Max toolkit. He also runs a jazz club night on Salt Spring Island, where he performs regularly with some of BC's finest jazz musicians.
